Anyone got any pictures of rodded Hudsons? I just got a stock clean 50 coupe and am looking for some inspiration. I wanna chop it, primer it, and give the front grill a grrrrowl. rob@ochre.co.za
Mine's a 49. Clean and simple treatment. That is actually a photoshop, mine is not quite complete yet.
I kinda like these two looks - with the treatment of the ford in this link: http://www.flickr.com/photos/jalopnik/76351547/in/set-1637152/
I've always dug Hudsons, I haven't had one yet though but keep an eye out all the time. The car above is 50 times cooler than any Merc there's ever been. If I had 5 mercs I couldn't get rid of them fast enough to get a Hudson like this, or make one look similar. Hell, unchopped Hudsons look more chopped & way better than a merc that's had major surgery. That's the Alpha & Omega of cool sleds right there. (and the grey one above also)
I've got a '57 buick grille getting ready to go in my car. Looks pretty good mocked up. Sorry, I dont have any pics of that setup.
Your primer grey 48 is way cool. How much is it chopped? How did you handle the gl***? Did you keep the rear window stock or did you cut the gl***, and did you lay the windshield gl*** into the cowl? DId you cut the side vents>?
Roost...yeah man I gotta agree with ya. While I like them, I've never been drawn hard to Mercs. I'd rather have either a Hudson or a Kaiser Manhattan. They all need healthy chops anyway...but I like the body lines and proportions of the Hudson way better...and the Kaisers have nice lines, way cool front ends, and those peaks in the windows make me drool every time. Tet****...been diggin' that car for a while now. Olson
well i bought the car already chooped but i think it was hacked about 4 inches in the front and at least 6 in the rear, i havent really had it next to another hudson to compare, im working on doing the gl*** right now, i want to radius the rear windows first though. the windshield and rear window are plexi right now but i finally found a rear window with all the stainless and im trying to find a gl*** shop that can cut down the windshield for me. i have not cut the vent windows yet but its on my list of things to do
