Dave Marasco ...... Twenty some odd years ago I was at Pleasanton admiring a flawless black '29 closed cab pickup and recognized the owner as Dave from his Hot Rod magazine feature on his equally flawless roadster pickup from the days I devoured and memorized the "Hot Rodders Bible". I complimented Dave on the straight black paint and he shared with me that he primered and prepped the panels and he would invite the painter to judge it's surface for color and the painter would tell him to block it again and use a longer stick. Repeatedly!. A great gentleman.

Isn't this believed to be the car that was modified into the Milner coupe for American Graffiti?

Curly West in his 270 GMC powered Willys against Dave McDougal's 292 Ford
In the quest for more speed Curly later replaced the Willys body with a T bucket body.

Rootie, could the first photo be of George Robson in Leon Dury's car? And maybe the track is a Syracuse?

The second photo looks like Spider Webb leading Duke Nalon in the Novi during the 1953 Indianapolis 500.

Yes that is Robson at Syracuse 1940. That probably is Webb in the Lubri-loy car 1953 though Johnny Thomson did relieve him for a time that year.
