Carrol and Taylor I believe. I knew a Carrol from Fla. and he had Willys and Anglia race cars.

Anybody notice the braided line and red and blue anodized fittings that supposedly only came out in the 1980's and are totally incorrect for any gasser. "Sarcasm" "roll eyes".
On a more serious note that's a beautiful car and I hope he finds it. "Thumbs up"

Unless I misinterpreted your post you might want to check your dates referring to AN fittings.

    Hello,
In 1962-64, renown drag racer and builder, Atts Ono, put together his immaculate Willys Coupe for the B/Gas class. A lot of those parts came from the Douglas Aircraft Surplus Yard near the Long Beach Airport. (or he made his own) We all got our "aircraft" stuff there. Aluminum plates, seats, old instruments, roll tubing, solid metal bars, etc.

The red Willys build was finished in 1964 and made its debut at Lions Dragstrip at an All Gas Coupe/Sedan meet. Check out the photo on the cover of PHR for the detailed build. Atts Ono was a master craftsman/machinist and made almost everything possible on the Willys.

He was part of our 40 Willys C/Gas Coupe build and crew from late 1959-1960. Also, he was instrumental in helping us on that fateful night at Lions and the day(weeks) after.

It was a sarcastic comment about people having a shit fit over "gassers" that had braided lines and A N fittings in some threads I saw.

Kind of what I thought but believe me it's WAY MORE than an issue with just AN fittings and SS hose. Which is embraced fully here if used on either restored Race Cars or even new builds that at least have a semblance of representation of the "real thing".
Sorry to clutter up this thread guys, no drama intended.

Wish I could share your enthusiasm for this "look", not saying this was the only one from back in the day as I've seen a handful but I'd say these were the exception to the rule.
A little too cartoonish for me.

I think I like the fact that cars are are built different. I mean big Daddy Ed Roth didn't get famous for building boring cars that we're not cartoonish, bizarre, and totally out of this world.
