This is my first post. I'm building a 27 tudor and await a model A frame that should arrive soon from Spirit. I'll have a lot of questions as I go along I have pretty well patched up the body got the doors on &so forth thanks to Howells ebay &Birdhavens here in Ia. I will be running full fenders and I guess they will be gl***. Can I use the 27 rear fenders and then put on 28-29 running boards splash aprons and front fenders ? Thanks in advance--Hank
I've seen pix of '27 T's with '28/'29 fenders, running boards, and splash aprons. From your description I would ***ume that you'll have the stock "A" wheelbase and the "A" fenders would be the correct length. To comment on using "A" front and "T" rear fenders I would not recommend it. The cross sections of the fenders are radically different and (my opinion is that) it would really look like something that Dr. Frankenstein cobbled together. I'm all for using the '28/'29 "A" fenders, though. They have a really cool shape and look great on a "T".
You can still get/find steel fenders. Ask around, go to swap meets go online or put a wanted ad on here. Just watch the post count on the person replying. I have some nice A's and 32 Ford just not sure if/when I will list them. I have a heavily involved project right now so after that maybe get a breather.
