Technical Year ID help please

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Daytona Metalworks, Nov 26, 2018.

  1. Okay... I picked up this Nodular housing at the Turkey Rod Run Swap Meet the other day...
Not that its if significant importance.. but I was just trying to ID the year of this unit.
I know the number before the F30 will ID the year.. but cant seem to make a number out of this...
I know the 2 dots above/below a number is either a 6 or 9... but this number looks like neither...
    Any help would be appreciated...
    thanks guys...[IMG][IMG]

I wonder if the foundry workers had any idea that stuff like this would matter, 50 years later? :)

it sure looks like a 3, doesn't it

the date on the pinion support..is it close to the date on the case? matched set?

  7. my first thought was a 5, stamped using an imprint stamp, instead of a reverse stamp like the others. new guy grabbed the wrong stamp?
