I went last year and was a little disappointed by the turnout. Granted there is no "scene" to speak of, but is seems this year they are catering to Voodoo Larry and his "Ratrodders" Ha Ha Ha.

They manage to gather some pretty cool stuff for this show. I would encourage you to go this year. Junior Brown would be worth the trip in itself, but look at all of the cool customs that will be there this year!

You can also be some of the first to see Dave Shuten's new bubbletop project.

Yes he would. I can't hardly stand country music of any kind, but I love listening to Jr. Brown. As far as I'm concerned, he is one of the best guitar players alive, and he doesn't get the recognition he deserves.

  6. I'm a shut in. If I travel more than 20 miles from my house, my ankle monitor starts buzzing.

BTW, are either of you going to the Blacktop Barons show next weekend?
The prison is not too far away, so the ankle bracelet should let you get that far. :D

  8. Chad - dunno/maybe. I'm trying to finish off my coupe by next month.

  11. I'll try to make the Barons show, but Plainfield is a good 80+ mile jaunt for me.

I wish there was an occasional decent show within an hour drive. Of all the shows going on this year, the easiest for me to get to is Cheaterama, and that's still an hour +. Just my luck, there was a small ratrod show in Northbrook last weekend (about 4 miles from my house), and I never heard about it until somebody posted pics on the HAMB.

When my car's finished I'm gonna have a Primates "car show" at my house, $0.23 entry fee. No trophies, but plenty of free beer, bands and BBQ.

Dave Shuten is the one that actually told me about the show. I'd like to go. I checkedout the website but couldn't find any lodging info. I'll contact Dave and see where he's staying.

Weak. I drive down there every single week for band practice. :D So that's about 4000 miles a year. I don't think 80 miles will kill you. ;)

Russco, you should come hang out with us when we are drinking. We are a little more fun then. Well, at least we think so. Ha Ha Ha

Zenor, you are such a pussy, anywhere I want to go is at least an hour drive for me. Ha Ha Ha

I will have my shirts for sale in the bustedlifter booth. I hear that that is where the hangout with a/c will be!

Thanks that was really the first drive on it of any distance. Im still working a few bugs out of it. Some guy came up to it over there and stuck a knife in my Alt. and struck an arc on it  so I was a little freaked out about making it home after that but i guess it didnt hurt anything

I will be there too, but without any kind of "traditional" ride. Anyone with any questions about needed a good place to stay etc. send me a PM. If you click on the "where and when" tab it will list hotels with a "show rate". I will be putting something together closer to the show as far as places to eat, drink etc. and places to avoid as well.

Yeah I dont know what the hell he was thinking ,its got little alt from a Kabota tractor on it and he said he was showing his buddy how close it was on clearance to the steering box and accidentily shorted across it
BTW your 41 is sweet I was admiring all the garnish moldings Im missing from mine LOL As for my previous stuff this is the first traditional style car Ive built
I did a tracknose speedstar a couple years ago for my brother and Ive got one of them damn muscle cars too and had the occasional lowrider minitruck and Harleys in the past. sorry I didnt really get to talk to you guys much so im looking forward to hanging out sometime in the future.
