Projects 34 ford 3 window built from 2 door sedan

I did my first chop with a ac stick welder . now I just make a block of bondo ,file off everything that don't look right . easier in the long run !

 

How did I miss this? This is the kind of stuff I like! Good job!

 

I vividly remember "Jitney Jake" Jacobs hanging from a tree while he welded the top back on his to-be yellow coupe and surrounding the weld area with wet rags. I have heard he was/is one of the best tig-welders on either coast. Am I close, Cyclone?

You're doing fine- steady as she goes!

 

He was hanging off the side of the coupe with a lumberjack belt not attached to any tree, but did a fantastic job grafting a 34 5 window front 1/2 to the 3 Window back 1/2 and hammer welded the now chopped top back on.

As for anything that he’s welded in front of me.
Tig or Gas, it’s a work of art.

Great work Nils. You'll have to let me come over for a gas welding lesson sometime. I've always wanted to learn.

Did you loose power with that big storm?

 

No , but most of town did. Had to deal with all the storm BS at work. Im a full time FF work 24hr shifts. Crazy busy .

Only way to weld in my opinion! Cast aluminum I TIG though.
