Any Hambers besides the USA, Canada, Europe, Australia, South Africa and New Zealand on here. Just wondering
You've covered most of the bases there, I guess. Whereabouts in Africa you from? A pal has recently returned from a two-year job in Nigeria and said there's no scene to report on. I'm guessing there are other more important issues to contend with than playing with cars.
Nigeria?....No Hot rodders? You must be kidding...That's where all those guys live that want to buy all our cars. They will send a large cheque and all you have to do is send them the over amount......................Scam?....................No, never heard of that one.....
Greetings and happy Kwanzaa! I am Mobebe Zutwana, son of the Director of the Nigerian Chamber of Commerce's mailman. Our dog was ******inated by rogue diamond miners. We must leave the country immediately and need to deposit the sum of $555 trillion dollars into your bank account immediately. In order to secure this most important transaction, I will need you to forward the signed ***le and keys to your hot rod immediately. I look forward to this most beneficial transaction with you and your generous country. God bless you indeed, and please drive though.
I'm a new HAMBer - in Joburg South Africa. I picked up my love of US iron while living in NYC for 10 yrs. I currently have a 50 hudson coupe (which I'm busy doing into a traditional custom with primer and flames) and a 69 GTO which I picked up in mint condition from the original owner who'd had heart surgery and said he couldn't drive it anymore cause it made him too excited. I was happy to stumble onto this forum, cause the traditional hod rod scene in south Africa is non existant - restorations are more the norm.
my parents and my 2 sisters are from South Africa,,i was conceived there does that count???....i guess i had the best seat on the plane...we came to canada in 1975..
I haven't been on here much lately and only saw this post today. Neophyte......yup, that's me. I'm from South Africa. Roodepoort to be exact which is about 25 km west of the CBD of Johannesburg. I actually met a U.S. HAMBer, Danimal from Michigan, tonight. He's in S.A. for a few days and contacted me this past Saturday via PM to arrange for us to meet. Quite a nice and interesting guy.
That's me...I'm the guilty one... The last post was exactly 3 months ago. As I said, I only saw the post yesterday and also saw my name mentioned so I just had to reply. Who knows, maybe there were other Africans who also did see it. One I can think of is rlackey. Well, originally he's American, then they moved to the UK at some stage and he's been here in South Africa now for the last 7 years or so.
