Has anyone run oversized tires in the rear? I'm considering going to 255/70r15 rear.
    Thanks for your help

I have 9 inch slicks on mine. Just don't plan on changing them without dropping the rear end. I had G78's bias and you had to finesse them in. You have plenty of room in the wheel well, it's just the low cut wheel opening.

So, IMO, 255/70r15 will fit but not without dropping the rear shackles. If I am remembering right, 255/70/15 are about a 1/2 taller than my slicks at that. You probably aren't going to lower the car with those on there.

    My best guess.

255 70s on this chevy I had, (15x7s with 4 1/2 backspace?) the best I remember, I have jacked em up with a floor jack underneatth the frame just in front of the rear wheel letting the rear hang down as far as possible and raising the car as far as possible still to let the upper inside of the wheel lip ride the top of the drum until it slid underneath and up into the quarter to get it up in there:D Ive ran 8 inch vette ralleys, reversed dish 15x7 cragars with only 2 1/4 inch backspace and 235 70s under 55 quarters (never had to loosen a shackle for what I did but have heard of people doing it.) 55.jpg
