I know that this is a little off topic, but it affects us all and the reason that we all have this wonderfull hobby/life style. I just wanted to give a big thanks to all the vererans out there and to all of those whom have made the ultimate sacrafice on this upcoming Memorial Day. If it were not for WWII, hot roding would not be what it is today. The skills learned and the builds inspired by lost buddies of past and present continue today. Weather or not we belive in the causes or support the decisions that send our people into harms way, ultimately, it is their sacrafices that indirectly allow us to enjoy our hobby today. So while you are out cruising or whatever it is that you are going to do tomorrow, please give a quick thanks to those that are not here to be doing the same. Sorry that this is a little off the normal discussion and I know that my words are not being expressed as they are in my mind, but f*** it, I feel better.
Veterans are never off topic, we owe them so much, I think about them every day. Thank you for all you have given us.
"God rest ye merry gentlemen, Who laid your good lives down, Who took up Khaki and the gun Instead of cap and gown God bring ye to a fairer place Than e'en Oxford Town" Written in honor of the fallen Oxfordians in WWI. About 15 years later, the Oxford student body p***ed a resolution that they "would not die for King and Country." Then Hitler happened, and many did. The foolishness of youth redeemed by the courage of maturity, I guess. Tucker
If you can read this, thank a teacher If its in english, thank a soldier. This year more than ever Im thinking of our veterans. Now I got a brother-in-law over there fighting for us to be free.
I lost my childhood bestfriend friend in the Gulf War. I do thank these men and women for the job they do. And will never forget those that paid the ultimate price.
We can never thank our guys in the military enough. Like it has been said, they are the reason we can do what we do.
I count it a special privilege to spend a few moments with old friends in a quiet moment, sometimes as years go by it's harder to remember there names, but I can still see there faces, they never grow any older in my minds eye,....... These are the true American Hero's that are worthy of being remembered.
Very well said and very true. This is the ANZAC ode, it is the fourth stanza from the poem 'For the fallen' by poet Laurence Binyon. Although it may be used to commemorate the Aussy/NZ soldiers it is clearley applicable to all who served. They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old; Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning We will remember them. Lest we forget. Doc.
It is the soldier, not the reporter, Who has given us the freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, Who has given us the freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organiser, Who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier, Who salutes the flag, Who serves beneath the flag, And whose coffin is d****d in the flag, Who allows the protestor to burn the flag.
Thanks to all our vets, but it is only right to honor those that gave all. May they be granted Eternal Rest.

There are a lotta veterans still living also,,,,remember to say thanks to them and fly the American flag high,,,,,,HRP
Thank you to those that gave all so we could have this wonderful life. Only thanks to them we can build them, drive them, or even talk about them. Whatever I have to ***** about today, I'll try to remember how much it cost for me to have something so petty to whine about!
Mate, its all alittle closer to home when your mates dont come back with you. I layed 22 close mates to reast while serving. Im a diabled vet, here in Australia. Aust. Army Special Air Service Regiment........"Who Dares Wins" Lest We Forget. Doc.
