I dont normally plug anything, unless i am paid. But this is one of the cleanest mags out there. Zombie that creates the mag is a great guy and is trying to do this all on his own so help him out!
Oh yeah, the 60 chevy "Nasty Rat" that my buddy and i built is featured. its a real old g***er with some history so check it out!

Just got mine yesterday......great to see some HAMBers cars in there this issue......mine was in the last issue #5, the Counselor's Coupe......

Zach SUHR's Model A Roadster has a great 4 page feature.....check it out....

I have been a Charter Subcriber and never disappointed.......unlike Ol' Skool Rodz......too much junk in there......Rod & Kulture is cl***y......

    Just my $0.02

I would have to say I agree that Rod and Kulture is one of the best mags out there.....plus I get them sent to my house for free cuz my roommate does some of the pin-up photos. Good articles, good pics,....good ****.

Not a fan of Ol' Skool Rods......Im more interested in cars.....not scenesters.

Thanks guys. Its always nice hearing something positive about a project you've been involved with since the beginning. Its a sometimes thankless job as I never hear much back from the readers (neither negative OR positive). But that isn't why I do it. I do it to give something back to something I love. I can't build or paint a car, but I can share some pictures and stories of the cars I like. Sometimes I feel like leaving it all behind and stop doing it. Lately that has crossed my mind more than normal. Hope this mag goes somewhere soon...

yes. thanks guys for all of your support. the guys on the hamb have supported us from the begining and we really appreciate it. i did find one major **** up in this issue, in the nasty rat article. i duplicated a paragraph. BIG **** up. we should have that problem solved for the future issues. hellbound g***er, make sure and let me know when your ride is ready.

    thanks, zombie

well, i'll tell ya. when your collecting all the material, taking the pictures, writing stories, dealing with advertisers, and the distributors, and laying the entire thing out by yourself, along with having a full time job, and doing artwork on the side, you occationally get overwelmed and you miss a thing or two. obviously at the stage the mag is at, this sort of thing should not happen, but what can i say? oops. at yesterdays meeting we hired another pair of eyes that will be double checking my work. this should correct the problem.

  12. Hope I can get my hands on a copy at Paso, Zombie, your mag is near perfect!

  13. I think this magazine sets the standard for all the other tradional/old school/rods/custom/lifestyle/whatever/magazines that fit into this category. A very slick package with great content and direction. The photography is excellent! One of the few magazines I find hard to set down and truly do read from cover to cover.

Thanks for such a quality magazine!!!!!

  14. Yep, definitely my favourite mag. I dig the lack of ads, about a dozen. R&C has close to 100 in each issue, so I dont bother.

  15. I love Rod & Kulture:D , and not just because they have been using my photos. It would have been nice if they had sent mine to the right address though. I had to go to my old place to pick it up. Whats up with the no envelope this time around ?

I'm really looking forward to seeing the Jalopy Showdown coverage in the mag. From some of the photos I saw that Spike took on Saturday, his coverage should be AWESOME! Can't wait to see which shot is choosen for the cover!:D

Keep up the GREAT job guys. Your hard work and dedication shows.

Why is it so hard to get magazines at the newstand in Texas? Are there no distributers here or what? I can get OSR at the Randall's down the street but I don't really want it :(

I picked up a copy of the latest issue of Rod & Kulture last Friday. Zombie and the gang have a pretty good collective eye, lotsa cool machines in there with no real ****e. They're doing a nice job.

Plus, there's a nice little picture of my '57 Chevy g***er in the Vegas coverage. It's always a kick to see your own machine in print.:D

    Keep up the good work.

    Just subscribed today.
After issue #5 ran out so quickly I got a scare and just got a subscription rather than waiting and picking it up at shows.

Awesome magazine even though that Spike douchebag has a hand in it. Haha.

Seriously, great job to all involved. I'd buy a 10 year sub if it was available just so I don't miss an issue.

It hasn't let me down once yet.
As a matter of fact, it takes top spot on the pile in the conference room for meetings :)

agree, top mag and an awesome job for a one-man-show

    BUT…

Nothing should go to print without another set of eyes checking it out, preferrably one that aint been involved from the start. This will always pick up on any spelling mistakes and any changes gramatically that will need to be made for a better read, small things someone so close to the job wouldn't normally see.

now don't get me wrong, i'm not ****tin on anyone here, i really dig the mag, quality is awesome, photos great, coverage as good as any, but the spelling mistakes let it down in a big way. I know deadlines are tight, time is precious, but a quality mag should be a quality mag, period!

These things for mine let it down. I can't help but look at these things from my Graphic Design background and maybe i pick up on things others don't.

Keep up the great work, just like to see a bit more time put in between final layout and going to the printer (which by the sound of things is being put in place - awesome:D) It'll see new Rod and Kulture leap into a better bracket of mag.

The text doesn't need to be so large and fill the white space, 10pt on 12pt leading would be fine....

OK, it's my 0.02c, only meant as constructive criticism, only meant for a better long term mag. I've got all issues bar the latest issue... which i will be getting and continue to get.

PM if you feel like i've been too harsh, take on board anything/nothing but have a think about it. Im on the other side of the world but always willing to help out if i can and offer what knowledge i have to those interested.

    keep up the great work,
    Simon

thanks again guys for your support and suggestions. we consider every one of them. i agree we are to the point now that grammer errors (and duplicated paragraphs) are things we just can not let slide, and need immediate attention. i do believe this should be handled for issue #7.

i do want to say this is definitely not a one man show. the photographers and editors are the ones that make this mag. i would like to publicly thank these guys. most of them are on the hamb.
