    Right on. You'll make it.

  12. FWIW you may want to add Drags, and Byron to the title of this thread.

I plan on being there! Changed my plans when it was announced they weren’t having Meltdown any more! Then came the news that, actually, only the name was going to change, most everything was going to be the same. Changed my plans back to going. Nice to be retired! Will only be a small potato, tho.

It did sell, the event is now named Glory Days.

  18. The Meltdown Drags was not owned, organised or run by Byron Dragway, but was created and run by the men of the Meltdown Drags Association. If BJ (owner of Byron) has finally sold the track, it happened after the decision was made to not have a Meltdown Drags in 2019. The track being for sale is not new news.
On a different note, I personally hope the track staff handles this new event. The ground work has already been done.

he was referring to Byron Dragway being sold, not Meltdown Drags

I've heard rumors of that for awhile. If it sells please let it go to folks who will keep it open and not tear it out for a super Wally land disco fish market. Too many cool tracks went by the wayside for someone's profit. Sell it to a supporter of the sport. No one else will give a shit

We got our confirmation email that they received our pregistration. It appers they are trying to keep car rules similar to the Meltdown, I hope so, Meltdown was the coolest race we have ever been to. We owe Sheets and Giggles Altered from Manitoba a re-match

  22. ...the track has been for sale for awhile, but I've heard that BJ won't sell to just anyone;..the new owner would have to keep it as a running dragstrip....sure hope so as this is our local track and is one of the best kept/run tracks anywhere.
So glad they are keepin this event running, my favorite event of the year.

This week I passed on a really good job to a friend. I have decided that it is now my time, to use my abilities, for myself. If I never force myself to build my own projects, it will never come to be. I realized this by observing my friends dear to me. They all got to old, and never built anything for themselves... Heartbreaking to witness. I don't want the same fate bestowed upon me.
