Best 110v Mig welder** Opinions needed

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by So-cal Tex, Jan 31, 2006.

  1. 120V on traditional 15-20-30 amp outlets have restricted power contrasted with a run of the mill 240V circuits. You are working with a large portion of the voltage. I guess any trade-off among single and double voltage would be in the plan and execution of the power supply. In the event that you have 240V, have no requirement for transportability and incidental use on 120, at that point it's of no worry. Dive down into the specs on different machines and think about the yield current, kW/kVA and obligation cycle on 120 versus 240.

A portion of the better 120V inverter welders is quite great to the extent of proficiency and inrush current, particularly if the producer gave control factor amendment. Allows you get more screech out of the pig on a littler Amp benefit.

  2. I was also a beginner in welding when I started and was very difficult to decide which type of welder to buy. There came up many questions like MIG or TIG. What are gas and gasless welders? and many more questions came in the way to buy the one worth it as a welder comes at a considerable cost. So, I read many forums and finally, got my answer to buy the most suitable one. I found this https://topreviewedten.com/best-mig-welder/#1 helpful to know about the welder.

I read the "reviews" in the link provided and was not impressed with the author's knowledge of the subject. It read more like a high school English class assignment without the footnotes. Not sure the guy has ever struck an arc. Read his bio at the end of the article and decide for yourself...

I ended getting a used Miller Sidekick for a steal on CL. I'm still pretty new to welding, but I haven't had any issues with it other than my own ignorance.
