Has anyone put airbags in a '58 T-bird? Can it be done within reason?

what kind of suspension does it have front and rear?

if it is the same as later ('64) big body frames then it will be very easy.

    A new cl***ic!

BTW, I don't know what kind of suspension they have. I'm liking the idea of kustomizing one right now.

Should be a piece of cake since the '58 squarebird came with coil springs in the rear.
In '59 they switched to parallel leaf.

There are two HAMBers trying to get money. If not, it goes on Ebay and in the Gazette for more $$$.

That's right, '58 was the only year of Squarebird that had rear coils, so that'd be the one to do. Just keep in mind that the car is a unibody so you'll want to pay careful attention to the underside to make sure it's solid, they did have some rust problems. Get a solid '58 and you're in business.

Gosh, some of these guys sure are hard on you about your lifestyle choices Kirk! Good luck with the T-Bag...I mean bird...T-Bird...

I looked at a few of those, while I was living in Seattle. I couldn't find one that wasn't squishy steel underneath. That was in Seattle, though, probably easier to find a solid one here.

hey whats up man? In 1958 they had airbags on the big birds but they took to long to fill so they swaped em out for springs the car with sit flat on the ground. almost with no other lowering methods if I let the air out of the tires alone on mine(58 bird) it sits damn near flat. I'v seen a few kits that can be used on it.
