Has anyone built hydraulic clutch for 50's Ford?
    If so,what kind of cylinders
    did you use?
I'm just gathering ideas for my build.

I'm using one in my '59. A Speedway slave (7/8") and a Wilwood clutch master (3/4") and an AFCO stock car hose to connect them. I went with a SBC, far from a stock Ford. I made up a bracket that holds the brake and clutch master to the firewall. And an adapter plate on the bellhousing to mount the slave.

I went with a hydraulic throw-out bearing, about 15,000 miles without any problems.

I'm currently building a Model A Roadster with a Y-Block Ford engine, I bought '59 Ford truck hydraulic master cylinder, slave cylinder and all off the necessary linkage including the truck bell housing to use on the Y-Block. Ford used this setup from 1957-1962 on the Y-Block.

On the picture below you can see the tab on the left side of the bellhousing where the slave cylinder should be mounted, if your using a p***enger car bellhousing a custom mount will need to be fabricated if your going to use the truck slave cylinder.

Finally had time to figure out the clutch, atleast I tried..I have 302& Toploader,10.5" clutch out of Fox body Mustang. So,I bought the 3/4" Wilwood master, found some unidentified 3/4" slave cylinder, made some brackets and..didn't work at all.the clutch became so stiff that it is not possible to use.Guess I'll try the 7/8" slave,as mentioned above. If that doesn't do the trick then its AOD time..

You have to watch the pedal ratio. I dropped the pivot point lower on the arm for convenience and the pedal was impossible to push. I moved it to the stock location and it was easy to push.

Yes,I moved up the MC (and pivot point) and now it seems to work fine.
Thank You bobss396 for your help!

It took me a while to accept that I had to move it up higher. Once I did it was like night and day, easy to work the pedal. Nice going.
