It’s Barrett Jackson season. Your supposed to want $3,000.
Will second the comments that without pictures the question is kinda pointless

I guess three questions to ask yourself , what is the oil pressure, cylinder compression in all 8 and any idea of mileage. Last one may not be as easy as the first two .

I forgot the smiley face wink after the $3,000 price ;). Humor done poorly suffers greatly.

  20. Still not enough info. If its a tea pot 4 bbl its not worth as much as the square flange 4 bbl. Most used Y block fords are boat anchors in need of a rebuild. some cyl. heads are more valuable that others. I wouldn't pay $500 for a used Y block. Ive got a few of those. And I wouldn't spend $500 on parts rebuilding one also.

  21. If you are flipping cars for a living you should already have some idea of the value of a car prior to buying it. We are not Kelly Blue Book and if any of us are willing to shot you a number we should also be willing to shell that out.

That said how long is a string? I mean we only know that it has a V 8 in it as it stands.

It is probably a dodg engine with valve cover adaptors to put the Ford valve covers on it.;) As has already been said, we need pictures to really tell. Right now it is any ones guess as to what it is. Then again it could be a steam locomotive engine.:oops::rolleyes: he did say it was a,

i am not buying the car to flip it, otherwise i would know how much theyre worth. nor do i think you are kelly blue book. i was simply weighing some options of selling some parts to quickly recoup my 300 bucks and have a car full of parts for free. i figured since some of you use or deal with y blocks regularly yiu make have insite. the ones on my local craigslist are 200 for parts only. sorry to inconvenience you. like i said. i will post some pics and those of you who dont mind weighing in i really appreciate your insites

  25. A running Y block is worth 800 easy. Any Y block core is worth that at least here in the mid west. It sounded like you wanted to sell the car.

I ran Y blocks for years and still would if my pickets were deep enough. If it is a good mill I would keep it. Hell if you are in the Willamette Valley it may even have one of my Y blocks in it. :D

  27. If you get rich they make a 302 based top end for the Y block in Australia. I have never built one but it is pretty slick, it uses all SBF parts from the deck up. Pretty slick setup. :D

  30. I got a friend that builds Y blocks now that gets the stuff from some foundry in Australia. Pretty slick stuff if going fast is more important than looking cool. LOL

Yes I have heard that about South America before. Maybe it started out there.
