I attended the show yesterday also. I thought it was one of the best GNRS to date. The Model A displays in building 9 were nothing short of spectacular !

Why do a couple of the cars in the AMBR judging have their tops down? (insert ****ie joke here). Do they not have tops? Does that matter to judging? I would think it does
One more, Burns Stainless made me famous. I've seen photos of this banner but not in person. It was at the door of the " suede palace"
They are roadsters, a top is not a requirement to compete. I'd imagine that some owners just flat like the looks of the car with the top on better than with it off. A couple don't have tops at all. I think a couple of them may have had the top put on after they were judged too. Give the judges the open roadster look with the top off to the side and put the top on for the display because that is the way you like it. The half way up top on the 27 Tub is rather distracting though. Reminds one too much of the 59 Ford Skyliner brigade playing praying Mantis at car shows.
This may just be me but I've seen some really nice cars ruined by misproportioned tops. Tops have been one of those areas where it's anybodys' guess who will like them and maybe the owners would just as soon eliminate the possibility that a judge/s may be of the same mind.
I had a good conversation with Al Teague on Friday as he hung around the Sadd, Teague, and Bentley roadster. I even got a shot of him with the car. A little while later, he points to the blue roadster right behind the STB car and tells me that's his driver. I said I thought he was building his 40. He said his wife told him he knew he was never going to finish the 40, so buy that one and we can enjoy it until the 40 gets done. Too bad all wives don't think that way. Al, keep both cars and for sure, hang on to Jane!
