Picked these up at Turlock this past weekend...never seen anything like it. They are aluminum...and originally had a steel cap with perforations over the tip that capped it off. There pretty long about 21" overall. I'm thinking they might be mid to late 50s? I looked in my 1962 Honest Charlie catalog and didnt see anything...they're just a neat piece of hot rod quackery...anybody have some old speed and custom catalogs?
Maybe Tucker? Would be worth major coin if that's the case. Sent from my SM-T350 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Never thought they might not be car related. Do you think they would make heat exchangers for a furnace out of aluminum? They were being used as exhaust tips. Seems chintzy enough to be a vintage custom car part to me...but who knows......dont have any old JC Whitney catalogs...
If you google "Perrys aluminum heat exchanger" this is the top result...maybe the same company? https://www.perryproducts.com/
I have to agree with fastcarl. Looks like they came from a furnace unit. Looks very same that we had at work several years back.
Looks like I got took! They were cheap anyway...and I think they'd be cool exhaust tips...or maybe not.
They have that 60’s or 70’s street freak look Or like a mad max accessory! Put some formed bits over the ends and make an old school exhaust wistle out of them, or maybe more appropriate an exhaust flute ! Lol Definitely different
Wow, everybody missed the performance use of these things. Note the balance tubes cast between the 3 outlets. Gotta be worth at least 2-3 HP, no? Too much fun...
I think if you install those on a car with a flame thrower kit, you’ve got something! Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
I signed up exclusively to reply to this, even though I know it's three years old. As confident as you may be that it's some random piece of s**** or a furnace part, I can confirm it's not. As mentioned earlier (and as seen on the castings), this is a silencer made by Perry's.
Hilarious! I knew they were cool...but they are long gone. Sold them at a swapmeet years ago for $20. Told the guy...I was told they might be a furnace part but would be cool as exhaust tips...
