Good stuff. Still trying to decide between this and '53/'54 ford swing pedals and firewall mounted masters.

I was worried about cutting the x in mine but your boxing makes it look safe. Good fab work on the pedals.

I'm glad you did. I have a set of those pedals I got in a deal, and wasn't sure what they came off of.

  9. Wow, 6 year old thread brought back from the grave. I still have not got this damn thin on the road. I am painting it now though.

  11. I couldn't find this when I had my 39 pedals so I sold em off and used F-1 pedals on a hunk of 1/8th inch plate. I also sliced about 2/3rd way through the X and boxed it in like you did. I drove it like this last summer with worn pedal bushings. This winter I'm changing out the worn bushing. Great tech!

Have you fabricated the clutch linkage yet. I have the 1939 petal set - ready to connect to a Muncie 4 speed - looking for ideas for this connection

  13. IMG_1555.JPG Oh yes. It's been done for quite some time. You have to play around with linkage lengths to get it right. I suggest making an access hole in the bottom of your bellhousing so you can see the throw bearing and the distance between it and the pressure plate. I made a 1 inch hole and used an expansion plug to fill it . The only way to get your linkage right without burning up the TO bearing. I had to find the right clutch arm for the shaft. I'm using early ford style stuff from Mac's in New Zealand. It's kind of a bitch but it can be done. Not much room under there to work. The Mustang MC was a loser. I took it out and went with a Corvette MC that has a much bigger bore. Now the car stops.
