I used ACDELCO master cylinder #18M1020 for a 1967 Mustang with drum brakes. I used an ACDELCO #U855 pressure switch and mounted it to the stock brake distribution junction with two adapters from Edelmann’s #200200 and #261320 to mount the pressure switch where the rear brake line used to mount. I used 3/16 brake line to attach to the master cylinder, where I used Edelman adapters #121039 and #258403 for the 3/16 brake lines.

Good job. I had a guy pull out in front of me years ago, when I hit the brakes one of the front flex hoses blew and I immediately had zero brakes at 70 mph. Logging truck was coming in the opposite lane so I had to p*** the guy on the right partially on the shoulder and partially in the ditch.
Ever since then I always upgrade to a dual master cylinder on an older car.

Is the Delco a USA made unit ? We were recommending the Autozone M1485 rebuilds because many of them are USA Made Bendix or Raybestos castings. Most new masters as of late tend to be made in China or India and problems with them have come up.

Sounds you'd be better off keeping the original single pot MC than get one of those off shore units.

The one I got had made in USA cast into it.

Additionally, I used the rod that came with it, after I pulled the clip off the end which locks the rod into the master.
