Nice work Ron, Did you find that Hurst Mystery shifter nut that went missing? Funny how things disappear and waste our time trying to find them.
Gonzo Steve. I think it fell into someones pocket. LOL I'm reviewing the security footage so I can see where I hid it.
Did you print that Ron? I might need to turn a 4K tach into a 6.5K tach with a new face and a reduction box.
Good work, Ron, swapping the faceplate of the tach to get the one you wanted. The guys are going to go nuts over this build when it is finished! You have set the bar high and are not prepared to flex on anything, will be a real hot rod when done.
Long story short Matt. I bought a junk Tach to get the bezel and gl*** for the speedo, kept the face for futures, which is the present. Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Thanks Iron and yes, my stand is wearing LEE's and duck tape, they stand up much better than the foam padding
Straightening left door hinges. This poor door has been through a war. Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
So, at some point in its 85 years, this door has flown open and badly hyperextended the frame and hinges. Must have been a long time ago, as it was worth repairing. You can see that the inner panel was cut out and welded back in. What you can’t see is that the hinges were torn from their mounts, the frame was straightened and then welded back together. A Valiant effort by some Metal Mechanic in bygone years. I just reinforced it a bit and straightened the hinges to fit. Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Nice work! I have to do the same to my door bottoms. I straightened the hinges already on the 20 ton. Sent from my iPad using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Working on the rear brakes today, using 48-51 F2-3, Bendix backing plates which have no emergency brakes. The Hot Rod Works axle ends were installed and welded by a local machine shop and the backing plates had the center register hole opened up and I elongated the mounting holes using an end mill. Everything is ready to go. I used late 40’s p***enger emergency levers, wedge cut 1/2”-9/16” in length to clear the lower return spring and give a bit more stroke. I used 70ish Ford F250 equalizer bars and shaved them on the top a bit for more clearance. This allows me to clear the spring and lines up better with the cable entry.
