Ha ha ha Rick they were fun times and laughted my ass off. I still make the Chile but now I make it for the Iron Invasion . So get the day off from work and come have a bowl . Its funny I have the burn spot on my 32 cabriolet running board and have to smile every time I notice it. Nothing like cooking Chile on a 1932 ford:D now that’s traditional !

Here are some photos I took at the 2006 Hunnert Car Pileup at the Grundy County Speedway. It was so much fun!

I was there that year. Isn't that where I saw the red T-roadster that had more metal flake than a bass boat?

Here's another finished photo. Like Sam mentioned, it is a 38 coupe, with a 40 cowl and front end. A Very, Amazing Custom. This photo was taken a few years later at The Scrap Drive show in Belvidere ILL.

I remember photograph (from the right side) of it in Old Skool Rodz (before they became totally arts car rat rod) coverage of this event.
I blew it up and hung it on my shop wall.

    I think so.

Anyone got pix of that car? I loved it then but have never seen it or a pic since. Anyone know where it is now?

I missed the 2007 Hunnert Car Pile-up as I was attending Paramedic school, which was unfortunate. The 2009 Hunnert Car Pile-Up was the last to be held in Morris at the Grundy County Fairgrounds. It was also the year attendance soared, so much so that it ground the Interstate to a crawl. The IL State Patrol was pissed:D:D
The Chrome Czars had organized one of the greatest car events of it's time....the Hunnert Car Pile-Up had arrived!

We entered the gates as the show opened so we were unaware of the traffic and parking issues until we left later that evening. Friday brought a little rain (note some of the cars were wearing a little dirt) The 2009 H.C.P. was incredible. Looking back, I wonder where some of these cars are today as I haven't seen some of them since.

On somewhat of a side note there has been a dramatic decline in event coverage on the HAMB in the past 5 years. In the past, "Event Coverage" of shows was common. I attribute this decline to apps like Instagram. Since we're reminiscing about this great show....I'll harken back to the days of cool event coverage on the HAMB and share my terrible photography.

Thanks for sharing. You’re right about not seeing many of those cars since.

Hi Robert, the sedan was finished years later and was a local car to Marty Body shop and a young gun that built it. I haven’t seen it in over 10 years so don’t know if it still around. There are many cars I don’t see in the area and know the were sold and all over the world. Its unfortunately and Sad many Hot Rodders also are no longer with us and have passed.
Thanks for all the cool old pictures Speedon ,Sam and others they bring back great memories . I will have to see if I have some I know I lost most in the great flood..
