Hi HAMBers, I am looking for an alternative wiper motor for my Chevy C10 (1965). The motor of the original one is mounted perpendicular on the firewall, but this is in the way of the aftermarket radio. See photo: The aftermarket one (from New Port), next to it, is nice but costs a fortune. I would like to now if there are any alternatives, costing less than $229 (ex shipping to Europe) https://newportwipers.com/product/1...al-motor-fits-flat-with-firewall/#wiper-motor
Not sure which motor that one is but I've seen some retrofits using late model (2000 ish) Cadillac wiper motors, other GM motors could be the same. Most of these retrofits were mounted on the common engine side of the firewall. I have a 66 Suburban with an aftermarket casette/radio and did not have any clearance issues, curious what you have that takes up so much room, maybe a CD changer.
New radios are dirt cheap now. They no longer need all that space for driving your CD player and can play gazillions of tunes from a stick for as low as $20.
Ok. The new double DIN radio may need to be replaced by something less bulky. Thanks for the input. Sent from my hand held online shouting device.
