Can someone tell me how to tell a front bumper from a rear for a 47-53 Chevy truck? Do they all have 5 bolt holes? I know one is flatter and one has a deeper curve, but which is which?

I ask because I sold one recently that i was sure (I thought) was a rear but my buyer says it was a front, and if I was wrong I want to confirm it and make it right.

My dad had a ‘49 Chevy 3100 and my memory thinks the front and rear bumpers were very similar. If there is a difference. Maybe the front has a bit of an arc. Just a guest that’s probably worth every cent I’m charging for it.

Fronts have more of a radius. But if you don't have both to compare, it's tough to tell.

..they look a lot alike, front has more curve to it, rears are mostly flat thru middle, all have 5 bolt holes, middle hole takes a dummy bolt,..I've seen fronts used on rears,..you'll find lots more fronts than rears
