Hey all, First of all, i'd like to thank Dave Downs who sent me this file on cd to post for him. According to him, i quote... "I just had digtal files made of 2 old 8mm movies (there is a 3rd one I'm desperateley searching for) that I took at the 1963 Nationals in Indianapolis. They were taken from about the midddle of the stands, most of the shots are g***ers and Super Stocks. I hadn't watched these in 25 years (I haven't owned an 8mm movie projecter in that long!) and they really brought back the memories. Nose-in-the-air Willys g***ers smoking off the line - WHAT A TRIP!!!!!!!! ..... the end of the film is a scene of the cars in the parking lot of the motel we stayed in, and the very end is a pan of my '50 Chevy sitting in the yard of my parents house." Thanks again, Dave. Enjoy all.... -scott noteboom
Thanks to Scott!!! I'll try to put some comments together tomorrow I think the parkng lot shots are as interesting as the races!! We drove out in a '62 409 w/a 4:56 rear...............
At the end of this video you'll see Jim Davis '32 coupe and Courtney Scott '34 roadster in the Motel Parking lot. Both from Washington DC....
Brings back some great memories, was there in 64 or65. Can't remember which year but recall that Big Daddy broke the 8 second mark. Thanks for posting.
