Gotta be honest F& J if I were you I’d do the exact same thing.

For now if there’s no salt on the road I’m game.

Until then keep posting your road shots in the hotrod! I love seeing them

I adjusted the pinion angle on the 56 Cad and took her for a run today. Clear, cold and dry here, time for a test run! The car ran great and Im still on a hotrod high.Good therapy. Looks like lots of us are not afraid of a little cold.

I drive my hotrods, but I wish I drove them more. I always have a co-pilot too.

IMG_0283.JPG 20 some years ago we were taking our kids to Disneyland, the early morning departure meant getting up and leaving at 5am, plugged the 1yr old driver in the night before but it didn't start. Cleaned the snow off the 47 Chevy sedan delivery, hooked up the batt, pumped the shit out of it, started warmed up and off to the airport 45 miles away. When we returned and we're on the shuttle to the parking some dude had to say what a shame someone would drive such a cool old car in -30 degree weather. I gave him a boost.

A friend of mine has 3 builds on the go ,one a 38 Chev he has had for 30 yrs, never had one on the road. I put the blower back on my 39 a few weeks ago and took him for a blast. Hope that puts a fire under his ass. Life is short, drive them when ever you can.

After changing my insurance company I drive where and when I like. Only "restriction" is to stay under 3,000 miles per year.

This is her daily driver, and I mean daily, including the 32 degree drive to the gym this morning,,, she gets depressed when it rains and it has to sit in the carport/garage.

A long time friend showed up late summer, he is turning 60 and his lifelong dream since High School was a 40 Deluxe coupe with a 327 4 speed just like a older guy in his town had then. He jumped at my offer to cruise around in mine that day. We were out for over two hours, and he was fired up. 2-3 weeks later he calls to say he found/bought a barn find 40 coupe that a early SBC pulled out before parked. Oh, he said "6 months and it will be on the road". A month later I called around 8 PM, and he had already gone to bed and was sleeping..says he's "tired from his job". Nothing's been done to the 40, and those 6 months are up. Pics that day, dated July 29th 2018

He used to always try to get me to finish mine quicker. Oh Well..

My 32 daily came the closest ever to getting slammed in the ass from a texting dipshit 45 minutes ago. I was out running errands twice today to beat the snow coming tomorrow.. Started off great, high fives from some passers-by, super friendly people at the stores, and even saw a local Hambers ride sitting in front of a Dentists in the city.

I live on a very busy State 2 lane road, on a straight stretch...well, I see this small Benz dropping way back then speeding back up to me repeatedly for 2 miles.(sure sign of texter) So, I booted the gas to get a huge distance in front of him so I could make the 90* degree turn into my driveway. I looked back and this asshole had caught up so quickly and nearly hit me even though I turned in fast. How'd you all like to have to turn a tight 90* at high speed? I was so PO'd, I thought about carrying a breaker bar for the unfortunate idiot that finally does get me...but I won't. My third brakelight means nothing if they are texting.

  13. F&J, I'm glad that your okay. :) If I didn't live out in the country, I wouldn't drive them as much as I do. 20171013_175232.jpg
I've had some close calls too. so I try to avoid heavy city traffic. If a crazy driver is following me to close, I'll even pull over and let them by. My grandkids beg to ride in the Hot Rods. But I will only take them for short distance's, like ice cream etc. Like others have said, we can fix the old Hot Rods, but not the people, so much.;) Thanks Ron....

I drive mine 9 months of the year but not much in winter just because I need better heaters! I buy barn finds, no plans on leaving any behind.

They say for every one on the road there are ten in garages.I was influenced by a 39 gasser in my hood in the 60s. Took me a long time to get mine and 2yrs of bust-ass to build it but Ive got it now and its here to stay! Most guys don't realize how much time ,money and work it takes to build a car. When ever the roads are dry, I will take one out.

I park my daily driver truck Friday after work and don’t drive it again until Monday morning if the weather isn’t just totally crappy. This little truck is seen regularly at the local stores and restaurants

  27. When it is a decent day without rain or snow, I will drive the 52 GMC. Even at temps down into 30's, as long as it's dry. They put too much salt down on the roads for after a snow/ice event and have to let it dry out a little. The heater in the 52 GMC feels nice on those cold days. Shot of the truck at Bonneville, which is kind of funny since I just stated wait for the roads to be dry of the salt slush. DSCF5287.JPG

Last time was Christmas Eve as we had a warm spell. I put the top down and ran a bunch of errands in the old girl.
