As soon as the moderators see this it will be gone. HAMB discourages peddling of "historical do***ents."

Not trying to break rules.or the law. Just asking. I hate to see this car go away but it's not fixable. Some are and dont have a ***le. I know if you build two into one you can do stuff. Anyways I'm not out to do anything wrong. They can take it down but I didn't offer it for sale. Was asking if its able to be done.

Not an expert, but I'm sure tampering with vin numbers is illegal everywhere, and that's actually what you would be leading up to. Leads to nightmare scenarios where one might slide by in a state where inspections are lax, but some unsuspecting buyer ends up with it, puts 10's of thousands into it only to have a car he can't register in his state, or worse....confi****ed. Defeats the purpose of having vin numbers to begin with.

Each State may be different as some States have a year cut off date on older vehicles. Selling it to the wrong person could put you in a jam they try to sell it later it gets inspected and the law comes knocking on your door.:(

I've seen them for sale. I guess the vin goes to the crusher. I just wanted to see what the do's and dont's are. I've seen a lot of buildable cars with no ***les. Well at least she gave some parts to fix mine and few more to fix others. Thanks for the thoughts. I'm not looking for trouble.

Depending on the state you live in, not having a ***le MAY only result in a bunch of paperwork(if you're lucky), however, you're talking a whole different matter when you bring up changing vin numbers.
The folks that sell them will never say it's so you can use them to register another vehicle. They sell them as "historical do***ents" supposedly for display purposes only. Well, we know how that goes.
Also, YOU will probably need that ***le when you s**** the car. Salvage yards any more will not take a vehicle without a ***le.

In Missouri it's legal as a historical do***ent. What you do after the sale is up to the buyer. I've sold them before and there is a guy that goes to alot of swap meets that specializes in it. Try selling it on Facebook. I'm sure someone could use it. In my neck of the woods you dont need it to s**** a car.

Too bad it's not a 55 Chevy you've got the vin and ***le for. The guy that stole the one talked about on the main page of the Hamb yesterday is probably looking for just that.

I knew a guy that saved registrations and VIN plates from cars he junked, he was in the towing business. I know he sold some to those that bought cars with no paper work. Somewhere he came across boxes of rivets that held them on. Probably not the most honest guy on the planet as well to say the least.
