    Thank you!

It’s a Jensen VX5228. I looked at so many different CarPlay capable units but this worked for my project budget and had several features I wanted. Unlike so many new stereos, it has an actual volume knob!

Speaking of budget, I purchased the materials at a fabric store using their “50% off total purchase” coupon. I bought the wood from the “s****s” pile at the lumber store. It helped keep the costs down.

Saving a little on this project helps me get ready for the next one! :)

50% coupon.........sounds like Joanne's? That's where I got the grey marine vinyl I used in my '57. Yep, watch for their sales and save a bunch. I'm getting ready to recover a 1940's Gerstner oak machinist tool chest that originally had a black "leatherette" covering from the factory. I did a bad job of recovering it when I bought it in the early 70's. Bought the replacement from Joanne's a few weeks ago on their 50% off sale.

Yes! Joanne’s has really good stuff and their coupons are awesome! I bought 2 yards of the vinyl, some foam, and backing and after the coupon, it was $20!
