Would like to have your wagon. a friend has a 65 and won't sell. another friend has a 64 cyclone. i had a 66 cyclone with a 460 in it. hard work . good car.
I done seen a 64 202 go down the road today all decked out like an A/FX....neat sight! pics tomorrow night, hopefully
I used to have a '62 Comet more-door, I still regret selling that thing. I currently have a '64 Ranchero that I would like to put a '64 Comet front clip on, so if anyone knows of one that's being parted out....
Last year I restored a 63 2door for my daughters first car. It turned out real nice! Light met' blue, white tuck & roll , 14" wheels with thin WW's and baby moons. rebuilt 170ci six, It was a great daily driver for a couple of months until some stupid chick who wasn't paying attention changed lanes without looking and ran my daughter off the road and now the Comet has a wasted quarter panel and bent front subframe with a folded under front wheel! After laughing at the insurance companys first offer I finally got enough out of them to cover the repairs.
63 Comet...one of my favorite cars. I actually bought it to be my son's first car and then decided to keep it. He got a Buick convertable instead.
those skirts look fantastic. i was looking at a set on eBay, but forgot to bid because i went to my daughter's violin recital. oh well, at least i have a sense of priorities. anyone know where i can get a set for my '62?
I've got a '63 Comet convertible, a '63 S22 2 door hardtop, and a '61 falcon 4 door. The '61 falcon is going to be a simple little lowered driver, like my previous '62 4 door. the '63 S22 is going to be my stepson's cruiser when he turns 16 (he's 14 how, and he and I are going to build it together). My convertible is going to be a heavily modified custom, separate frame, Lexus DOHC V8, 5 speed trans, air bags, etc. as seen in my profile.
i have seen a few pair on ebay, but i never seem to win. and i hate ebay. even though i can't stop buying stuff there. i'd like to score a set soon, though.
we have a 65 caliente ragtop six an four lugged... we just bought a 67 stang notchback 289 3-peed on the floor for the whole v8 five lig conversion ........
.....Don't have mine anymore but my dad has it so it hasn't gone far......1972 comet GT i use to street race.......Too bad the GT package that year was nothing more than fiberglass bolt on hood scoupe and some stripes.......
I have a 61, 4 door with <40,000 miles. I have been attempting to start a restore for years now. However, other projects seem to be taking all my time. If I do not start soon I will have to sell it to keep other projects going. If there is a possible interest, E-mail me and when or if I am ready I can let you know.
I drove my 65 Cyclone for years, just sold it a couple weeks ago. I drive a Falcon with 6 now. I love those little Fords and Mercs.
WOW im all about the comets i have a 61 2door got it in october and been working on it ever since my first old car been and she just about ready fot the summer cant wait patched the floor pans rebuilt frontend rebuilt top end and new seals on the 144 and the mrec-o-matic is still strong if it ever was? so ya I want to see some more comet pics heres mine with a few other pic i collected on web and hamb
The early Comet's have the best styling cues of the late 50's along with a somewhat modern suspension. The best thing is the 60 & '61's are one of the last American cars with BIG HONKIN FINS!. - - Powerband
