Does anyone have a good close up pic of the grill where the vertical bar meets the emblem? Mine was damaged to the point I can't tell it's original shape. Seems like it's got a centre bodyline that flattens out as it goes under the emblem, or the emblem was cast to thick and needs to be clearanced better.
Go to these links. You can get close up views https://fineartamerica.com/featured/1941-ford-stake-bed-truck-side-jason-waugh.html https://fineartamerica.com/featured/1941-ford-stake-bed-truck-fornt-grill-jason-waugh.html
That's the truck grill. Coe is different. Didn't see a good picture from the link, unless I was looking in the wrong place
Found this on parts for sale thread https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/1941-47-ford-coe-parts.1067019/
Yours looks about right. There is a center steel bar and a SS cover on mine. I'll check to see if the center steel bar is flat or domed behind the emblem. I don't recall.
No sweat... It's a little hard to see in the pics... The "tab" which connects to the hood is rectangular (red arrow), the steel behind the SS cover is domed the entire length (yellow arrow) and the FORD emblem is "notched" in a triangle shape to accept the "domed" center bar. I had to recreate that rectangular "tab" to accept the repop center bar. I forget if the repop steel and SS bars were Northern cl***ic which is no longer in business or elsewhere...
That second picture is perfect! My re-pop emblem needs to be ground into the “v” shape. My grill has the center bar over the welded center bar underneath. Seems unnecessary as they are the same shape but I can make those pretty easy in my brake. Thank you
The center trim is captured under the emblem and under the bottom trim piece. The emblem is "cut out" from the factory to clean the center trim. The center bar is slightly curved outward.
I just bought a re-pop emblem for my 41 grill. Ron in Tucson (who makes them) said that he may not make anymore. He only has one left after mine.
