BilletProof Detroit Pics, baby!!!

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by hillbillydeluxe, Jun 3, 2006.

  1. Rain, sun, burnouts and a LOT of fun. A big big thanks to KIRK! for enduring energy, Rudy and Denise for hospitality. Two or three downpours couldn't shut down the great people and great cars at this year's show. Enjoy the pics for now, I'll try to get more posted, and on motorcityhotrod.com

Well dad comes 1st and no one available to care for him today...'cept me that is. So now I'm thinkin of a nostalgic golf cart to haul his *** around at these gigs. I think he'd dig it to the max.

  15. Great pictures....specially the burnouts...were they 'planned' or just some overzealous throttle applications when leaving.....

Hey Dave, THe burnouts were a contest, they chained the cars down and let them go at it. That picture is of a dually model A from Toronto!

  17. Excellent....Hey, KIRK!! We gonna get the burnout contest at Antioch as well????

Just got back a couple of hours ago, had a great time. Finally got to meet Kirk and had great chat with him. Thanks Kirk for making this another banner year.
Fuelpump, Donzie, lurker Tom, myself and a couple more degenerates from the area went down and had a blast.

Definately a good time, the rain just helped to activate the wet t-shirt contest... too bad it was a bunch of dudes.

Our convoy got even bigger this year, went from 18 cars last year, to 21 this year. Quite a spectacle, that many cars cruising down the highway together.

    Thanks again Kirk! -Joe

I got there late (Right after the burnouts were done), but still had a blast.

I just really wish I could have gotten there an hour or two earlier to have seen a few more things.

From the looks of things, alot of cars had left before I had even arrived.

    Edit (Since he just posted a few seconds before me);
It was good seeing you out there today man. That '56 is really looking nice.
Hope you got to see mine all semi-slammed down in the dirt on your way out.

    Hey all,

Just wanted to say thanks for a great show. I took our two boys (Court 13 and Eli 10) and their cousin Tommy (14). I loved it and Tommy brought a picture of his '64 GMC short bed fleetside to check out what he could find for parts and info. The guys in the bed of the '64 Chev were great as were all of the rest of you! Eli wants me to get him a pinstriping starter kit, Court wants my car, and Tom wants to know how he can bring his truck next year (he'll have his permit but his mom or dad has to be riding with him!)

Great time, even brough Mom home a Lowbrow T shirt just to let her know we care! Then we went out, put the door panels back into my finally running (today) '54 Bel Air and drove around the neihborhood with no plates. 10 minutes later, the cops rolled by looking!!! I'm in the country. Cops don't just HAPPEN here!!!! I can't wait for my first ticket in her!

    OK, I can wait...

    Here's some of mine...

The first was a very impressive linkage setup...and a nice "mechanical" and clean engine compartment like I like. Sorry, I don't recall who's truck it was. We were too busy Ogling a female chest.

The second, I believe, won "Best Flathead". Sure was purdy. Third is of the car that was holding it.

Fourth was the sick Canadien ride with the gullwing doors. Fifth is it's interior. I think it won a trophy as well.

Sixth I thought was pretty original...don't know what the history was, but it had writing all over it as if it had been a racer in Mexico at some point in it's life.

Seventh is a cl***ic pic from the burnout contest. Lots o' smoke.

I had a good time again this year. Maybe NEXT year the Merc will make an appearance...(haven't I said that already?) I would have had the only '49-51 Merc there if I'd made it...

Hope there is a "next year..."

    Good seeing everyone again!

Glad to have met you (I still think you coulda sold a bunch of those "I made it to Billetproof but my car didn't" T-shirts.)

Another great show. Thanks to EVERYONE involved with putting it on. The rain didn't dampen too many's enthusiasium, just brought us closer together...under the canopies, pavillion, umbrellas...etc. Soggy hot dog anyone?
