    oh thats excellent! so making that engine work may take less modification than a normal sbc with mid engine mounts? ive been looking around at the front engine mounts and they seem simple and cheap. theres a good chance this is exactly what im going to do.
    seems like theres a lot of debate to whether i will need something at the bellhousing of the transmission as well, but i will probably do some sort of mount there just for saftey...i do like to do the occasional burnout :p

    he also had a big block sitting in the corner, but i think thats a little much for what im wanting to do. looks like fitment would start getting tight...and the mpg just scares me. i would like to be able to drive this thing to work or on road trips without breaking the bank too much.

    Zoomo,
    If you use the front mount, you will need to do something at the bell housing. You can't (or shouldn't) try to mount it at the front of the engine and at the tail shaft of the transmission. The '55 - '57 Chevys let the transmission hang out in the breeze.
    Look at the block plates the circle track guys use for ideas on how to do it.
