Got a pair of 15”x8.5” Wolfies on the back of my ‘55. Must have owned them for over 25 years now.....slightly different than yours though as they haven’t got the raised ridge on them.
Here’s a close up. They got a bit furry after kicking around the place for a few years.....took ages to polish ‘em up.....worth it though!
If memory serves right they were known as a high quality wheel in the time of a lot of low buck knockoff wheels. You didn't see a lot of them though.
Pretty sure the ones you have are for the old Suzuki Samurai or Jimny. Same bolt pattern as early Ford. 5.5 inch.
Yup, English stuff from the 70's. Always seemed to be really difficult to keep them looking good. Around the same time US Appliance mags were quite popular here and seemed to be made of less grainy material, would stay looking better for longer and were easier to polish up. The 'Woolfies' as they were known were made substantially in 13" diameters and drilled 4 stud to fit many small UK cars at the time and some had some godawful offsets for fwd cars! Hey, it was the '70's and fitting mags to virtually everything was cool! There were plenty in bigger sizes though, with 10*15's being the ultimate. Didn't realise that they were exported to the US though. Seems kinda odd, sand to Arabia, kind of thing! Chris
My folks are from Yorkshire ,used to go back every couple of Summers and I would always read the British street rod mags in the 70s even went to a couple of shows Wolfrace wheels were everywhere! BTW got a cousin in the Shetlands...
Yep! Made by John Woolfe racing (I think). I have a pair of 6x14s knocking about (somewhere). Charlie.
