It has been a while since I posted any pics of my little project. Not to suggest that anybody has lost any sleep, wondering what is up with my project. Anyway, I have been making some progress.
Gas tank? I don't know, it's the tank that nobody wanted in northern California. Everybody I know has sold it to someone else. More pics, OK.
That is a sore subject. I pinched this frame about four inches, as compared to a Model A frame. I would really like to keep the exhaust under the car and run a hood. I have kinda built myself into a corner for the moment. Time is working against me, though. I'd like to drive this to a couple of September shows. To fit the pipes underneath will take some work, so I'll do some lakes headers, or something, to drive it this summer. Ultimately, I want it all inside, dumps between the bone brackets, with a full hood. I'm just gonna get to that next winter...
Thats cool man, I love it. The black wheels look great too. I think I sold that gas tank to a guy in...
It's an Oliver tractor shell. Model 48, I think. Or from '48. You know, back when tractors were stremlined. I hear that model only lasted a year or two. I am not up on tractor history so much, I just thought it was a cool shell...
Damn, I knew if I procrastinated long enough someone would do a modified with a '48 Oliver grille shell. I've got one I've been saving for such a project so now i know how it's going to look. just as I thought it will make a slick racecar nose piece. Keep the pictures coming so I'll know how mine will turn out. Frank
Thought it looked like something off a tractor. Definitely looks good, although being from the South, I admit I would rather see it on the tractor.
Just think of it as some sort of weed-harvester, if that makes it more agrarian...or an earth-sack-mover, though I would like to hold myself with higher esteem...
