I just went to the website to gather hotel info in order to make reservations and just read the show is Oct 14th! A week later then usual! I thought if this info came as a huge surprise to me it might to others as well so I thought I'd bring it up for those that need to plan ahead.

Also wanted to mention that they only had suites and smoking rooms available at the Comfort Inn and I'm sure the other local hotel/motels are filling up fast as well. If your planning on attending I suggest you make your reservations ASAP so your not sleeping an hour away.

Here's the website for hotel and other info.

Sorry if I'm steping on anyone toes but I thought it needed to be brought up now.

It just happens that the second weekend in Oct is the 14th. So yes, numberwise it's later, but it's actually the same weekend as always.

    Thanks for heads up though!

I just got my reservations at the Days Inn and it was the same thing there. There were only smoking rooms left if you want two beds. The gal I talked to was wondering what was going on that weekend since they were filling up so fast.

I want to go to the same hotel we were at last year... there was a cowboy themed suite...

no better way for a fat, goofy-looking guy to get a chick back to the hotel... "c'mon... its a cowboy room..."

I asked the girl (Amanda) if there was a group rate or something because of the car show. She said no but the first quote of $99 for the suite that she gave me she lowered to $80 after I mentioned the show. Never hurts to ask for a discount.:D

Yeah, last year was the 9th or something, but the year before that it was the 12th... I think. It's always the 2nd weekend in October.

You may get better rates and rooms if you call the 1-800 corporate number for the hotels. I know some people were told a hotel was sold out, but got a room through the 800 number. Either way, they are filling up.

After some misbehavior a couple of years ago, we decided not to organize hotel discounts. It was too much of a liability for us.

  14. Mid October is normally one of the nicest weather periods in the year, average high is 64 degrees and dry. Last year was weird cold. If it was a couple weeks later last year, it would have been near 80.

Oh yeah, the website is up! We're still working out some details regarding vendors and sponsors, but the basic info is right!

I just changed my reservations at the Comfort Inn.

She says that they have 47 rooms left.

I thought size didn't matter! Last year there were around 850 traditional rods and customs and it was cold and overcast. I think maybe 10 or fewer cars snuck in that didn't meet the criteria or were borderline. I don't know how it compares to Billet Proof, since i haven't been, but everyone seems to have a good time at the Pileup and drive in from all over the US, so I guess that says something.

Probley 4 times larger as far as traditional cars go, much larger fairground area, lots more trees, more vendors, and the nitetime action at the HCPU RULES! Worth it at twice the drive time/distance.

Sorry breeder! I can't believe people started getting rooms 6-7 months before the show.
