Picked this heater up at a swap meet this weekend. Couldn't p*** it up for the price. Just looking for some info on it. There are no marking visible on the outside. I haven't had a chance to dig into it yet. Thanks for any info Chappy
Usually if there are no markings, such as an OEM part number or name, then it's a generic add on heater, commonly sold at parts stores back then.
when you do a google image search for 46 Ford heaters, they don't look like that, they have three doors.
Thanks Squirrel. Just looking for info incase I have start a spare parts search. I see a few offered as 39-40 ford/mercury units Looks like mine might be missing a part for defrost vent Chappy https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/1939-40-ford-hot-water-heater.1055603/
yeah, it sure does look like a 39 or 40 heater. Notice yours had trim in the center part at one time, and a chrome case, and others have indented lines on the sides.
Looks like my 1939 Ford heater - I took out of a junked 1939 2 door sedan 30 years ago. Over the years I have used this heater in 2 different 1939 Ford coupes. Put a NAPA 12 volt elect fan motor , works great . Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
