2 weeks ago i didn't know what a valve looked like,I had know idea of what i was doing, i spent 7 hours on layitlow,HAMb,RR and some other sites, within a week and learnt as much as i thought i needed to know and got on it. Heres a pic of my computer, i am trying to I.D all the parts: I got some tubing and circle plates and welded the rear cups, you cant really see the welds, they are a little messy but its my mess that i welded myself, and its strong and no ones ever gonna see em - right Here is Nobu getting one last hit before the bags are connected ;D I took out the rear springs and connected the lines, here is Nobu and I running the hose and bolting in the bag: Heres my messy trunk, i made everything - hose, wire, line etc a little longer as the tank and compressor are gonna have a more permanent home soon and i wanted room to move things around and get everything situated after checking the system, and making sure its working ok So after a gallon of sweat and alot of lemonade the rear is bagged. Im fuckin stoked !!!! Heres a clip : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FpcaQbr7ZD0 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ozlTsNz3Lpk
Kick ass man. Let me be the first to warn you that from now on, you'll bag everything you own. It's a curse.
Wasn't that hard once you sat down and started doing it eh? What setup are you running, and how many PSI? Looks like yours is a bit slower than mine. My compressor died a few days ago, so the car is stuck sitting on the ground right now. Gotta order a new one tomorrow and see about getting the rebuild parts for the old one...
Man I'm glad to see some progress made on that car. Looks good sitting low. Time to get the front down now. Gonna make it for Primer nats??
Looking awesome man! I gotta make a trip out there to check that thing out. Hope all is going well. T
No disrespect to you guys, but it kinda makes you wonder why in the late 50's GM had problems making a reliable air ride system when 3 guys with some beer and tortilla chips can make it work in their driveway just fine.
what size air lines are you running? Looks better than my first attempt at bagging a car....about ten years ago I had a 61 buick....tried using sleeves instead of double convoluted bags...couldnt get the damn thing off the ground!
ola lookin good i just installed a rear set on my 67 vista cruiser,, (air ride pro) has a compressor with check valve and line for 85 dollars,,except they forgot to send the line so i am waiting,,,any how where is your compressor line going? dont you put it straight to the tank?
The compressor is running to the tank, you can't see the line in that pic Brewsir - im running 1/2" lines Mac - i fuckin hope the buick is at the primer nats !!! you coming down ? I hope so. L
Ahhh odelay essay!! Good chattin at ya in Paso man! Shame you couldn't be there in person!! Glad to see that old Buick getting the attention she deserves!! At least now I'll have a place to park when I move in with Mac and Ragdoll.
I'm doing the Snoopy dance for you! I am so excited that she is getting atttention too. She was my faithful daily for a while. Funny Shit! LOL! And Miss Brandy, that made me snort. Lawrence, it was nice chatting with you at Paso, even though you couldn't make it. Viva La Cel Phones. LOL. That really IS a multi body trunk. Look at all the room, Nobu could be sitting in a hot tub for all that room.
dont know why yer suckin so hard in the pic bro,,your bong is empty.. . and what the other hamber said..you got any full shots of her..we here in the butthole of MO got that there 56k modems!!dont play clips so purty good!!!! breeder
*Snorts* Yeah...so "f-ed" up he has been talking about it for a year... LOL See you at the primer nats Lawrence.
I dont have any gauges yet, i need the fitting. i was really suprised how fast it is, im only running one viair 280 whats your set up ? I watched that video, thats fast bro. What compressor are running ? L
I'm running an Air Zenith, it'll go up to 200 psi, but I only had mine set at 160 when that video was done. They're the fastest DC compressor out right now (without spending 700-1000 bucks that is), and they're fully rebuildable. Mine croaked on me last week, and I'm on a tight timeframe so instead of me sending it in to them, they're sending me the parts to fix it myself. They have awesome service. I'll be rebuliding my old one and adding a second one to the wagon hopefully by friday. Should have super fast fill times then. If you want to check them out go to www.air-zenith.com . Wow, that sounded like an info-mercial.....but if you wanna go faster, I'd invest in one.
I think im gonna sell the 280 viair and upgrade to a 450. All in time though, i got to get the fuckin engine running so i can drive it this summer L
viar is a bastard if you ever have to actually use your warranty, and you can't rebuild their comps. I'd look into the AZ's, it's alot of air for a little more cash. Pm me if you wanna know anything else about my setup.
L, i know you don't have a whole lot of money to spend but I've heard nothing but good reviews on the Air Zeniths. A lot of mini truckers i know say this is way better than the Viair 450. or you can go balls out and get the Oasis comp. i'm happy for ya now you've got the rear done, i can't wait to see you draggin the rear and throwing some killer sparks.
