I see alot of you guys have FEDs on here. I was kinda wondering how many of you have them. Secondly how many of you still race them. Any year make an model is cool. Lets see what you have a tell a story... Sent from my SM-G955U using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Most people probably don't think it's funny. You seriously should think of changing it. It is very offensive.
I always thought a FED of a small displacement, non-blown cl*** would be cool to have and/or build. As far as driving one though, I'm pretty sure my pistachios would make me lift w-a-y before I got to the lights. Lynn
if this pos computer of mine would post pics i would, but it wont. i have a 440 mopar powered one. it hasn't run yet though. got side tracked but will get back on it soon. it will be a 10 sec and slower car.
^^^^ That's what I thought in the late 70's/early 80's when I built my FED ^^^^. It started off running 10.05 E.T.'s like clockwork, and that was right where the guy I built it for to take out was. But, you ALWAYS want to go faster, run quicker, and it bit! Fastest/quickest was a 9.23 @ 146 MPH, with a 340 HP short block SBC and some old style P and P'd heads. Next dragster was a RED Super Comp Car, an 8.90 Index Cl***. You always want to go faster, and quicker. My neuro-surgeon however, put an end to my dragster racing days; "you can't do that!". He was a private pilot though, and he was fine with that if I wanted to learn to fly (???). I don't think he really understood what I was doing, it was't Top Fuel for crying out loud, but he said NO! Now, I'm building a Sportsman Cl*** Bracket Car (may have to slow it down), that will do double duty as my "old-man-sleeper-car"; I hate them tuners and Mustang *****s. I am Butch/56sedandelivery.
im like flathead gary ive got a 1968 woody gilmore 188 wheelbase running a 427 chev all done waiting for nhra ch***is inspector to certify. he was here for march meet but didnt have the time sic. gonna run anra ne cl***es. it is very true that you always want to go a little bit faster. i have been running open wheel 10.00 cl*** with secondarys disconnected in my altered to keep it out of the 9s so i got a car thats legal. it doesnt take much to put a 1700 lb car in the 9s so be careful. wish i could post pictures
Currently restoring this one--Long/Hanna/Pink/Nancy/Cerney/Kelly and I also have an RCS (Huszar) that will be the next project. As it was in 1971 And when I purchased it (after I ditched some of the non original ****). I do have the original back half complete with the original 3 point roll bar and that will be mated with the surviving front half in the near future. Roo
'68 fed moved from cali to ct. powered by a modified (many other brands in it) buick 350 with a 471 Hampton on it. best is 9.0 @ 147. building another intake for a 671. never go back to a door car.
Older picture of mine when I got it. Just a rolling ch***is right now, motor is now in my Austin but I hope to get it running again. There is just a long list of other things I have to get done first.
