Event Coverage Thinking of a trip to USA(again!!) What car stuff to do in St Louis

Maybe still Webster Groves? Last year in May we were staying in Imperial and it was only a short distance to his place and he is still there . Huge house with underground garages and several up on ground level where you come into the entry courtyard.

 

I am thinking maybe Kirkwood........

Took your advice and did that.

 

Now the whole plan is changing when someone mentioned Custom Car Revival in Indianapolis. Would mean staying longer but that is OK with daughter in law. So plan now could be:
Arrive in St Louis and stay for a couple of days. Then go to NSRA Mid America Nats in Springfield 25/26 May.
Either return to St Louis for a couple of days and/or or continue on to see our friends in Dawsonville Georgia then back to St Louis. Then on June 8th travel to Indianapolis for Custom Car Revival. Will contact Kurt McCormick and see if he is heading up there. He usually takes the Herb Ogden 41 Buick convertible. That would be cool to ride shotgun in that cl***ic custom. So now more planning.

 

Watching your plan. We plan to stop at CCR on Saturday.

Kurt takes a different car each year to Indy. Friday is really rewarding just hanging out at the host hotel. A good chance to meet a lot of people and see a good amount of cars. Saturday is usually warm and you have to hussell to see all the cars and chat with people. So I would advise on arriving on Friday. Cars start arriving on Wednesday.

 

Isn`t the following week after Indy the vintage drags at Bowling Green Kentucky.

 

Yes. We are stopping at CCR on our way to BG the following weekend.

That's great.Those pictures look just like mine, but with different people in them Really tragic about the attacks and killings that occurred there.

 

Is the NSRA Mid America Nats in Springfield MO (May 25th/26th) an OK show to go to. Haven't been to an NSRA event since 1995 when we attended Knoxville. StrayKat said it is an OK show with 2000 cars but short on customs.
That is OK as I am on both sides of 49th Street.
The CCR in Indianapolis is shaping up as a definite now and will be traveling in style in an historic custom Cadillac convertible.

 

I am local and I have attended every year of this event. I enjoy the cars but mostly I like to visit with people I do not see often. A big cruise on North Glenstone each evening that will feature all kinds of cars and motorcycles.

Sorry I missed you at Dewey last year, maybe I will get a second chance.

What a dilemma. After Mid America Nats planned on a trip to non car friends place in Dawsonville. Then leave there on Sunday 2nd June to return to St Louis via Paducah. I had heard there was a hot rod run that River Tin Street Rods
hold. The Annual Riverfront Rod Run and this is the 42nd year. Now trying to reorganize my schedule to see if we can get in a day earlier. A one day only show on Saturday.

Now that you have extended your stay a few more weeks, you might as well come a few weeks earlier and do the Stray Kat 500 again this year. Really enjoyed visiting with you both last year. Hell, we'll have the whole summer planned out for ya in no time!

 

Time won't allow for that. Tickets all booked and penalties if amended.Maybe next year back with the Hudson?
I would do different events next time and limit the time at Museums that we did in 2018. Too uch pressure on the timetable.
