Well, Billetproof Detroit 2006 is in the books. I'll call it a success. The weather forecast was ****py but that didn't stop very many people from coming out. I don't have the official car count yet, but I should this afternoon. It was definitely more than last year. You guys continue to grow the event! We got three good drenchings with marble sized raindrops but they didn't last long and you guys barely flinched while the sun came out to warm things back up. The Cali crowd would have ran for the hills. YOU GUYS RULE! At the end of the day we even got pea-sized HAIL! Thankfully we were all packed up and getting ready for the figure 8 races. I saw ****loads of HAMBers and new faces. I forget the name but one even DROVE all the way from Arizona...*****IN'! All in all the day was great. Lots of great cars and people hanging out ********ting about hot rods...that's Billetproof! I'm sure that much more will come to mind but for now I just want to send out HUGE thanks to everyone who came, because there is no Billetproof if you don't. Then GIANT thanks to the Poor Boys Detroit and the Pecker Heads for doing their thing. I'll post my photos when I get home. I got a bunch this year of the trophys. They were by far some of the best at any Billetproof yet. Thanks to Roger, Tim, Terry, Forrest & Stretch for building them. OK, I'll shut up now....but thanks again, and see you next year at Billetproof Detroit 2007!
On a completely related topic, here are some early pics. Great show, and thanks again, KIRK! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=113313
Had a great time. Thanks Kirk and all the guys and gals that worked so hard. It just keeps getting better...keep it up..
How about a spring and a fall billetproof??? two times a year. That would be way cool !!!!! Next year will be bigger, and better... I'm sure of this much in life.
Kirk, GREAT show this year, even better than last year! Glad I got a t-shirt in time. I was sitting in Marc's booth seeing your canopy come down and figured I better get my shirt NOW! I was the guy that lacked the funds, and you had to set the shirt aside while I hit up Marc for the extra $$$... Thanks again for the great effort and a great show! Mercman1951
Thanks for all your hard work KIRK! You, Boomer, the Peckerheads, PoorBoys and the wives, deserve a huge pat on the back from another HUGELY sucessful show. Thanks! See ya in a few days in Indy and don't forget Rudys hoodie!
Kirk. It's difficult to come up with anything better than what's already been said. You just need to know how much we all appreciate your efforts for us. My only disappointment was that our group wasn't able to perform...hopefully next year. Thanks again.
Kirk, It was good to meet you finally. I was happy to see you talking with Randy for so long too. Sorry I had to leave so early. Had to go to a wedding. Great show. Lots of cars I had'nt seen before. Really good turnout. I know it rained, but last year if no one remembers it was friggin miserably HOT and steamy. A much nicer weather day for the show. I just loved the bullet canister vacuum trophy! Later, Bill
Thanks alot Kirk! Perfect day for the debut of my car! Anybody get a picture of all the trophies, they were ALL amazing! LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT YEAR!
