Hey all, quietly putting my 53 Merc up for sale. Only reason is there is no more room at the Inn and I am ready for the next build. There are some old threads on here about it but basically in it's current form it's an early style G***er. The body was immaculate and rust free when I started on it. Just some pin holes here and there to fix... Some custom work, nosed and decked. Custom interior... It's in race car form (although 100% street legal and I do drive it to shows). I'd sell it as a roller, turn key or whatever. I've got a newly built mild 289 that could go with it etc etc. Lots of stock original parts that are not on the car.

If you have a rough 53, this would be an easy completion to a nice custom. Set up to run either 4 spd or floor shift auto. Anyway, just tossing it out here in case there's someone looking for a 53 Merc... You can PM me with questions... oh, the lettering is all hand done but it's on top of the clear coat so it can be "easily" removed. Turn key would be around 20... roller probably half that and the 289 would be a couple grand... Trying to not write a FOR SALE add on here, just seeing if there's any interest in this group before I post it... It will be running at Atmore Dragway next weekend... Mid 12's on pump gas...

    Thanks!

    Nice car. Good luck.

  3. Beautiful. I have a great drivetrain for it but too many projects right now.

It’s all stock suspension. Built like an early g***er. Running original traction masters in the back. It’s a fully forged bottom end 331 with a custom roller cam. Race ported Windsor SR heads. Full race C4 automatic with brake (also set up to run 4spd). 9” rear, 31 spl 4:30 Detroit locker, N case and Mark Williams stuff. 8” pie crust slicks. 12.4 on pump gas and drive it to shows. [IMG]
