Mike, I got a good 302/AOD for that Ford. If you want it, it's yours.

I'll send a gift card from Sear's to get the hand tool fund going. Texas has been there for me * :D *, I'll be there for Texas.

What a loss! I'd be out of a job without my tools.
I'd be out of my mind without my cars to give me sanction and allow me to wind down. I'd be a babbling, mindless twit.......not that much would change.:D

To me, like every body else, fire is our worst fear, Two years ago I built a new garage and used 5/8 fire rated sheet rock hoping should this happen maybe aleast it could be contained a little. God blell your wife for being so under standing, she is a good woman, I think mine would be the same. Good luck with your next project.

I would like to thank everyone for their help and concern.Thank you for understanding how much all of this meant to me.I'm not some weekend hobbyist, this was me and everything about me.No other physical object could compare. The only things that mean more are my 2 children, wife, and the few loyal friends I have. There was 1000's of hours in this car,not to mention the memories.I just feel so cheated out of all my hard work, with nothing to show for it.Thank you again for all that truelly care and that understand how this has hit me.If anyone needs to contact me I can be reached at, mike kouragian

So sorry to hear this. Please post a list of shit you need to get back on your feet. I am relocating to a smaller shop and woun't hurt me to purge a bit to help out. I am sure there are many others here that would donate thier extra stuff as well. Did your tool box survive? I am going out to check my extra stuff.

Sorry to here the news. I feel for ya bud. I lost my '47 Chevy convert to a shop fire. It was a total loss and I was devastated. My car was my world. I cried for days straight and still get teary-eyed thinking about it. I can speak from experience, the pain does ease up and life goes on. Six years later I have another car thats just as cool.

I'll go thru my tools and send some of my extra stuff. It won't be much but will help in getting the basics started.

I don't understand though why your homeowners isn't covering the contents of your garage. Might not cover everything, but normally they do cover a percentage of the value of the house contents. Hopefully once the ashes settle you'll be able to work out something with both your homeowners and auto insurance people.

Side note: Everyone should take a few minutes to review all your insurance policys and make sure your hot rods are covered with the right type of insurance and that your home and garage are covered fully. People always think it happens to the other guy but trust me when I tell you YOU are the other guy to others. You and only you need to take responsiblity to make sure you've got adaquate coverage for your stuff. The list of HAMB folks that have lost stuff to fires is growing and each person needs to take action to protect themselves incase of something like this.

hes still staying @ the house...i went over there yesterday.its so wierd to me that it happened..very unreal..from me being inside the garage and helping out working on the olds...to seeing it at the roundup...and now its a shell...i can only imagine.....
so we got them outta the house last night and went out to the roller derby to try to just step away from the bullshit fo a little while.and get it off theyre mind...and he came down to the shop tonight..and he was really suprise how people are helping out.....honestly i am too...i think is really badass how people are helping out...i get really discouraged about the hamb sometimes with all the bullshit....but when i was sick alot of people helped me get through it ....and people that i know and like have taken my back on and off the board and that ill never forget....and once again to see everyone stepping up ..dennis with the ford..so rightous...jeremy and the 302..rules...lux with everything we've talked about..the gift cards and everything else...its really badass.....and anything i can do....and together we'll get him back on track.
