Hi, I need some info on this straight 6. Monday I'm goin to ***emble this motor at work. Its in the car. Don't know why the management didn't have the motor pulled to do it properly. No worries it is what it is. I need, wrist pin torque rod bolt torque ring orientation bearing clearance Oil pump specs There should be a book at the shop with this info, But seeing that I was told prior to leaving Friday I didn't have time to look. I want to be well armed and doing it by the book. Cheers Steve
30 on the wrist pins - use a punch in the pin when tightening. 40 on the rods, be sure of the amount of shims needed before final tightening. Stagger them ... .001 - .0015 on both rods & mains. As you know, shims determine clearance. Check for too much clearance in the gears & too much end play. Clean & align the squirters into the slurpers.
