Did all 32 Ford coupes and roadsters come equipped with both front and rear quarter panel braces? My roadster has the front braces but no rear braces. I do not intend to use a rumble seat, so are the rear braces needed ? Any help will be appreciated.
All 5-window coupes had both braces, regardless of whether they had a rumble seat or trunk. I ***ume that this was also true for roadsters
I've always replaced the missing rear ones as I felt they added some support between the subrails and the 1/4?
Looks like Speedway has them on sale with free shipping. Brooksville has been awfully proud of their prices lately.
Be aware that the tail panel on coupes is different height than roadsters. So, the decklid is probably slightly different height as well. So does that make the braces a different part as well? You might be better off buying roadster parts in case coupes don't fit right. Maybe it doesn't matter if you aren't intending to install a rumble though.
I didn't realise there was a difference between 5w coupes and roadsters, sorry if I'm giving the OP wrong info. guess you could check the part # between Brookville and UPAC.
I don't think there would much difference in either one. A minor cost compared to building a car. Just get ones made for a roadster.
Thanks for the info Guys. I spoke with Union Pacific and the coupe brace does not fit the roadster, so it will be Brooksville. Rebuilding a channeled car into a hi-boy is like a jigsaw puzzle. I now seem to have a bunch of 4 dr. ,2 dr. and 5 w coupe bits and pcs., but threads like the Template Roadster are helping. Thanks again!
