I am getting to the point of wiring my Model A and wanted to see what you guys have used. I'm going to run the basics head & tail lights,turn signals, horn.... I was looking at EZ wiring or Its a Snap wiring. Any suggestions???
This subject appears a lot around here. Do a search... I'd suggest by searching for different brand names. But I'll help you get started... this thread was one that I thought had some of the best discussion on the subject.
for a totally basic rod MAKE YOUR OWN!!!!!!! follow color codes, loom it nice, you'll surprised at the ease. BTW- I did an It's A Snap a couple years ago- I wasn't impressed.
It depends on your electrical ability but most basic harnesses like you need should work. You can buy just the fuse block and string the wires yourself or buy the basic 8 circuit. My preference is painless. Just get a good set of crimpers and soldering iron, crimp your terminals then solder them and add heat shrink tubing don't rely on crimps alone you will have less problems down the road.
I have been using the EZ wiring and I have not have had any problems.It is a good product at a good price.
Painless=Cashless Most of their stuff is high priced....I'd go w/ an E-Z Wire kit, or buy a fuse block and run yer own since it has fewer circuits.
EZWiring is great and for the $$ is a great buy....I just put one in my 55 pickup, actually still have to do the dash, but its been REAL easy and nice to deal with. I think it cost me all of $135
We do at least two complete rewires a month. Have used virtually every wire harness kit available. First choice is Ron Frances or Amirican Wire works. They cost a little more but are worth it terms of quality. Wouldn't touch EZ wire at all. have had several problems with their fuse panel buses burning out. You get what you pay for. Buy cheap you get cheap. Good Luck!
