Finally, a cheap purchase through ebay. It came complete with everything attached and broke down easily. My problem will be paint. I ruined a decent paint job. Krylon primer, color and clear aren't working for me. It's been crazing and crackling. I've put this silver base down, maybe there's a Testors translucent color I can use.
Want to avoid crazing? Don’t mix paints. Use the same brand/type of paint for color and clear. Use model spray paints or automotive paints. If the spray can has a picture of patio furniture on it, it’s not the best for models. Don’t waste your time with krylon or rustoleum. Save those for yard projects. I’m sure someone will tell a story about how great those brands are for models, but the proof is in the pudding. Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
One more. Its the old MPC American Grafitti coupe body, even more chopped, double zed frame. Lincoln V12 engine. Larger spoke wheels. Complete with "mexican blanket" upholstred sofa and 8-ball gear knob.
Gunze Sangyos 1/12 Indian Sport Scout. A demanding kit in more than one way but the result was ok I guess:
Finished! I know it’s early but I’m so excited. This AMT 33 Willy’s sports a hilborn hemi instead of the kit’s ford engine. I made a custom cradle with speed holes for the engine. I changed the stance and wheels too. It’s pearled, laced, and flaked with a ton of chrome. I also added yellow windows and wired it up. My goal was to make it look like a gasser/show car. Picked up this kit $4, no instructions, some bad painting, for my grand nephew. This will be his third kit, the first two being snap on type. I did some painting and the harder assembly, he will finish it off.

couple more finished these past couple weeks. First up is the AMT/Model King Comet Altered/Gasser.Color is 1 coat Purplicious and Tamiya Pearl White interior.Slixx decals, other than that kit is built box stock. Next is the AMT '62 Chevy Bel Air,color is 1 coat Mystic Emerald,Tamiya Pearl White,Modelhaus wide whites and wheels. Oh,forgot to mention that both kits were a pain in the ass to build, fitment was some kind of headache. So just a heads up if you plan on building them in the future.I have an uptop from the Modelhaus for the Chevy but just wasn't going to work, would not butt against the top of the windshield frame like it was made to do most likely it was the body and not the Modelhaus piece. Thanks for looking and Happy Modeling everybody !
Heres another one. As the previous orange 32 posted, this is also inspired by the great art of Chris Froggett: A resin body of a heavily chopped 34 was the base for this build:
something a little different,AMT's Sunbeam Tiger, color is Tamiya Haze Gray,Model Master Italian Red interior,Pegasus Torque Thrusts, kit decals Thanks for looking and Happy Modeling !
So I'd be lying if I said I'f built a damn thing in the last 20 - 25 years, but the bug has hit again! These all just arrived! Sent from my SM-G955F using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Yet another one: 37 Cabriolet with a carson top from Revells 48 Ford, and several other mods like a flathead engine, custom interior with 53 Chevy dashboard, tucknroll, flocking carpets and more:
Picked this yesterday. Got a bunch of odd Aurora stuff too.Traded some for two Giant torque wrenches i can use for artwork. All this stuff was going to the dumpster at one of my picking place. got this cool camper too.
Nice Tonka Winnebago! Had one when I was a kid.[emoji4] Sent from my SM-G955F using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
The Modelhaus uptop would be for the original '62 Chevy annual, not for the new tool '62 Chevy convertible. Most of their stuff would have been for original kits, not newly-designed kits.
I went to the Milwaukee NNL Saturday with my 1941 Willys Street Demon and got a pleasant surprise from a magazine company. That made my day. Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
