Who has a 348/409? What parts house did you use for the parts?

I use http://www.dr409.com/ and so far they're great. Good parts great service. I bought a complete 6X2 setup from them for my 348. Engine isn't done yet, so I can't tell you how it runs, I also got an Isky cam from them, and lots of other internal engine parts.

Thanks, do you know who sell complete (crate) 348/409s?

  4. Canadian guy does this stuff.... Aubrey Bruneau.

    www.bruneauperformance.ca

And they build and sell complete engines. Everything from a base 348 up to a monster 474. They also build 427's out of 348's. Check them out.

Edit: I just checked them again. If you do get one through them, they need a core engine...

I used a place that runs ads in Hemmings called I think Showcars in Minn. The parts I got from them were top quality.

  8. Hey Impala,,,I feel like were almost kin folk or something. I am build up a 430 Lincoln (MEL) engine. They are kissing cousins to the 348/409 in they have the combustion chamber in the block, not the head. The heads as flat as a pancake. As to my knowledge the GM 348/409 and the Fomoco 383/410/430/462 engines were the only ones of their kind. Plus were both located in texas. I am in Spring near Houston. How about you?

  9. Bearings, gaskets etc came from my local Carquest. Curt Harvey does crate motors, there was a thread here last week or so.

I didn't know that. I'm from Houston as well. Speaking of Spring, I'm going to be at the Kroger this Saturday. Look for my new car. What are you driving?
