Went to an estate auction on Sunday. They were auctioning off two cars. One ‘50 Merc, done car, nicely chopped. One ‘52 Merc project car, paint done, no interior. Don’t really need another car, but went “just in case” the went really cheap. They didn’t.

I really went there to pick this up. Saw it in the auction listing, and decided I wasn’t going home without it. Prior to my ownership, my Merc was in this club. Supposedly, there are photos of my car from back in the day, sporting a plaque like this one. Paging @drdave . I know you used to belong as well. Got any photos of it?

Neat combination! Way to think outside the box (even if the rear glass is OT)!

Your welcome. Jim Balie built and continues to build some of the nicest customs around. He's so busy I only run into him once in a while at car shows. Here's a few more from my neck of the woods that a29.jpg a26.jpg a09.jpg 970.jpg Balie built.

An outstanding feature of this Balie-built Ford is the flush-fit trim throughout. (Look closely!)
