All of these photos of vintage gas stations and no one has ever posted a Seaside gas station.

 

Just curious. Does anyone have a pic of the Shell Station on the northwest corner of Slauson & Soto in Huntington Park?

Cool! Thanks! The only reason I was curious the former owner of my merc used to hang out there in the mid 50's and surfer Pop's Proctor worked there.

Gas station in Stockholm. The gas station was also one of the entrances to a large fallout shelter that could accomodate 20 000 people.

 

A little fact and fiction about this aircraft is that it was sold as s****/war surplus after WWII. The buyer who was a B-17 pilot himself bought a B-17, only to tear off a section of the wing on take off. The GOV gave him another one (this on in the picture) and he flew it home and open up a gas station with this on top, as shown. At first you could climb into the aircraft until some kid fell out and the parents took the owner to court. The aircraft is a B-17G, serial number 44-85790 is now owned by the B-17 Alliance Foundation, McNary Field and is under restoration in Salem, OR. I remember as a kid stopping here while my Father was in the Air Force being transferred to another base and being able to climb inside it. In case you are wondering; I am not the kid that fell out of it.
