Nice car.... I'm kind of going threw the same thing.... I have a 1927 Buick 2727 4dr standard 6 sedan I inherited the car from a friend I was going to sell it but I have a problem with letting it go ... I am also kicking around the idea of up dating the running gear and keeping exterior looking original and then set it up so I could tow my single seater Bob tailed T behind it...Just a thought... Anyway cool car enjoy it...Another thing to consider when your thinking of front axle ideas is the size of tire your going to run...... I'm sure your probably aware of this already ,that with a shorter tire and wheel you will need to move the axle forward some to make the tire look right in the fender opening ... I was looking into that on mine .. Don't wanna move the springs forward was looking into off center spring pads on the axle..Just a thought...[IMG]

I have a rust free 29 3 window business coupe 121 series. your's is referred to as a victoria in the literature 5 window. the 121 (wheel base) was the middle series that was also referred to as the master. There was also a 116 which has a smaller engine and became the special and the 129 series (roadmonster)that also had the big motor ~320 cubes a monster for a 6 banger. The big series motor was also used as a GMC truck engine for many years after Buick went to the straight 8. Maybe a truck trans from the late 30s would be a good swap or maybe a cl***ic La Salle box would be very cool if it would fit.
This was Harley Earl's first design at Buick and was referred to as the pregnant Buick because of its rounded lines below the belt line. the body was squared off in 1930 and the fatter lines didn't resurface until the 33 models. The roof in Earl's original design was also much lower (chopped) but the execs. at Buick raised it up for production.
. Mine is in a pile with the wood roughed out and gorgeous sheet metal. probable not worth restoring but what a great rod it would make especially with a chopped top to honor Harley Earl.
Hoping to get started soon and good luck with yours.
